Two Die in Lawrenceville Car Crash: Neither Driver Was Wearing A Seatbelt.

Two drivers are dead after a head-on collision in Gwinett County. Could either of these lives have been saved if drivers were wearing seatbelts?
 
The Georgia car accident occurred on Monday, December 6 at about 5 a.m on Highway 29, near Patterson Road in Lawrenceville when two Toyota cars, a Corolla and a Cressida crashed.  The Corolla came turned north onto Highway 29 from Patterson and was travelling at a high rate of speed when it crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and hit the Cressida which was travelling south. The drivers, 22-year-old Dafney J. Perez of Lawrenceville and 68-year-old Samnang Chea also of Lawrenceville, were killed at the scene of the 
crash. There were no passengers in the vehicles.
 
Police believe that both speed and alcohol were contributing factors to the accident.  Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
 
Seat belts do not prevent accidents, but, in an accident, seatbelts may prevent serious injury and death.
