Attempted Lane Change Results in Claim Against Progressive

Rosalind Houser was involved in a rear end motor vehicle accident on October 16, 2009 in Fulton County as she traveled down GA 138 when she slowed to change lanes. While doing this, another car failed to slow in time and struck her vehicle from the rear. After the collision, Rosalind required medical attention. She was transported to the emergency room of Fayette Community Hospital where she presented with complaints of neck, back and shoulder pain. She was diagnosed as having cervical and thoracic strains, a left shoulder sprain/strain, and muscle soreness. Rosalind was given prescriptions for her injuries and was also advised to seek follow-up medical care. She continued to suffer pain from the sustained injuries and was seen at Healthfirst Rehab & Wellness. Rosalind continued to suffer from neck and low back pain, left shoulder pain and headaches.  Dr. Michael Johnston of Healthfirst Rehab & Wellness diagnosis included cervicobrachial syndrome, right shoulder pain, sciatic neuralgia, lumbar disc degeneration, and post traumatic headaches. Dr. Johnston found that Rosalind Houser had reduced range of motion specifically in her low back and neck. Healthfirst Rehab & Wellness prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy to treat Rosalind’s symptoms.

A claim against Progressive Insurance was settled once Rosalind’s condition improved.
