Coweta County Accident Settles Against Georgia Farm Bureau

Billie was involved in a motor vehicle accident on November 15th, 2009 in Coweta County Georgia. Billie was driving west Hwy 16 and after slowing down at the top of the hill, she was struck in the rear by another vehicle. After this collision, Billie required medical attention. She was transported via ambulance to the emergency room of Piedmont Fayette Hospital where the Piedmont Fayette Hospital physician examined her. Billie presented with complaints of pain in her head and had x-rays taken of her injuries and she was diagnosed as having mild cortical atrophy. She was advised to seek follow up medical care for the injuries sustained. Following the Piedmont Fayette Hospital physician's advice, she sought further medical care. Dr. Hartpence of Southern Crescent Medical Clinic who diagnosed her with cervical and lumbar strains saw her. Dr. Hartpence found that she had reduced range of motion in her neck and back and prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy to treat the symptoms. The goal of this physical therapy was to increase the range of motion, decrease the pain, and aid the muscles and ligaments in healing. During the course of her physical therapy, she also treated with a physician at Piedmont Physicians. Billie had continued to suffer from neck pain, head pain, and tingling in hands. Her family doctor at the Hughston Clinic diagnosed her with headaches, neck pain, and disc degeneration. Billie sought further medical care by Neurology at LaGrange because she was still suffering from multiple injuries. Prior to the accident, Billie had lumbar surgery. She also suffered from degenerative disc disease. Prior to the collision, she had pain, but nothing near what she has now. She can no longer sleep or walk without pain. Due to her age, she fears she will never heal. Her only option is to live with the pain or take strong drugs to dull her pain. Personal injury attorney, Shane Smith,  able to settle this claim against Georgia Farm Bureau.
