Afaf Pouls was involved in a rear-end motor vehicle accident on December 31, 2009 in Coweta County. After this collision, Afaf required medical attention and was transported via ambulance to the emergency room of Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Afaf presented with complaints of pain in her back and head and was eventually diagnosed with a spinal sprain. Afaf was given prescriptions for the injuries she sustained as a result of the accident and was encouraged to seek follow-up medical care. She continued to suffer pain and sought care from Dr. Burnett of South Atlanta Medical & Rehab. Suffering with headaches and continued pain in her neck and mid and lower back, Dr. Burnett diagnosed her with cervical segment dysfunction, headaches, low back and thoracic spine pain. Additionally, Dr. Burnett found that Afaf had reduced range of motion in her back and neck. A conservative program of physical therapy to treat Afaf’s symptoms was recommended. Afaf sought further medical care at neuropsychology Center. She continued to suffer from neck and back pain, anxiety, and experience sleep disturbance. She was diagnosed with anxiety, pain, attention dysfunction, insomnia and post traumatic stress disorder. Afaf also followed up with Lombardo Ophthalmology for a checkup of her left eye. She secured a complete physical check-up with Dr. Hyman. Afaf was then given a diagnosis of pure hypercholesterolemia and was also given a refill of her medication.
After numerous medical visits and once she Afaf feeling better, we were able to settle the claim against Geico Insurance Company.
