Gloria Cleveland was involved in a rear-end motor vehicle accident on October 5, 2009 in Baldwin County. Gloria was parked in a driveway when another vehicle lost control of their car and struck her from behind. Gloria required medical attention and was seen at Oconee Regional Medical Center. Gloria presented with complaints of pain in her leg and was diagnosed as having muscle contusions. She was given prescriptions for the injuries sustained in the October incident. She was also advised to seek follow-up medical care. Following the advice of the attending physician from Oconee Regional, Gloria sought further medical care and was seen by Dr. Nolan Stephens of Healing Hands. With continued pain in her neck, back, hip and thigh, Dr. Stephens diagnosed Gloria with headaches, paraesthesia of dermatomes L3/L4, edema, cervical vertebrae subluxations, lumbar subluxations complex, and a sprain/strain of her hip and thigh as well as whiplash. Gloria was prescribed physical therapy to treat her symptoms.
As she regained her health, the law firm of Shane Smith was able to settle the claim against Progressive Insurance.
