Zubair and Azizah Somani were involved in a rear-end motor vehicle accident on March 8, 2009 in Peachtree City, Georgia. After this collision, Zubair required medical attention. He was carried by ambulance to the emergency room of Piedmont Fayette Hospital where he presented with complaints of pain in his back, neck, and arm. He was diagnosed as having back pain and injury, contusions, an elbow injury, neck injuries and spasms. Zubair was given prescriptions for the injuries he sustained in the collision. Further, he was advised to seek additional medical care. Zubair continued to suffer pain from the sustained injuries and was later seen by Andreone Sports & Family Chiropractic. Dr. Andreone diagnosed lumbar and thoracic subluxations and also determined Zubair had reduced range of motion for which he prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy. Zubair continued to suffer pain from the sustained injuries and sought further medical care. He was seen by Dr. William & Woods. Zubair presented with complaints of pain in his back, right arm, and with burning feet. He was diagnosed as having mild disc narrowing at T7/T8 and mild spondylosis in his lower thoracic spine. Zubair continued to suffer pain from the sustained injuries and was later seen by Physicians Group. He presented with complaints of pain in his lower back and was diagnosed as having unspecified lower back pain. An additional course of physical therapy was advised; however, Zubair has been unable to obtain that treatment although he is aware he will need to follow through with such therapy in order to return to full health.
The second passenger, Azizah Somani, was also injured in this same accident and was transported via personal vehicle to the emergency room of Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Azizah presented with complaints of pain in her neck and head. She was diagnosed as having contusions, a head injury, neck injuries and spasms. Azizah was given prescriptions for the sustained injuries. Azizah was also advised to seek follow-up medical care for her injuries and suffered continued pain from the injuries related to the collision. She was seen at Andreone Sports & Family Chiropractic. Dr. Andreone diagnosed her with having cervical, lumbar, and thoracic subluxations and noticed a reduced range of motion. He prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy to treat those symptoms. Azizah continued to suffer pain from the sustained injuries and sought further medical care and was later seen by Physiotherapy Associates. She presented with complaints of pain in her right knee and was diagnosed as having right knee edema. With continual pain, she was referred to MRI & Imaging of Georgia where scans showed a meniscus tear. A right knee arthroscopy with a lateral meniscectomy and debridement was done to repair the damage.
Once both victims regained strength and felt better, we were able to settle the claim against State Farm Insurance Company.
