Two Female Passengers Injured at Intersection of Stovall & Flat Shoals

Debbie Ellington and Cokethia Martin were involved in a motor vehicle accident on March 20, 2008 in Fulton County Georgia. Debbie and Cokethia were stopped for traffic on Stovall Street when another vehicle made a left turn from Flat Shoals Avenue and struck their vehicle. After this collision, Debbie required medical attention. She was transported to the emergency room of Atlanta Medical Center. Debbie presented with complaints of both face and neck pain and was diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy and cervical strain. Debbie was given prescriptions for cervical pain. Additionally, she was advised to seek follow up medical care for the injuries sustained. Debbie was seen by PSS Injury & Wellness Center. She continued to suffer from neck, low/mid back pain and pain in her right arm. PSS Injury & Wellness Center diagnosed her with cervical strain/sprain, thoracic strain/sprain, lumbar strain/sprain, and upper extremity dysfunction. Further, PSS Injury & Wellness Center found that she had reduced range of motion. Debbie was prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy to treat her symptoms.

Like Debbie, the second passenger also sustained injuries from the accident and required medical attention. Cokethia was transported via ambulance to the emergency room of Atlanta Medical Center. She presented with complaints of back pain. Cokethia was given prescriptions for back pain and was also advised to seek follow up medical care for the injuries sustained. Cokethia continued to suffer pain from the injuries sustained and was ultimately seen by PSS Injury & Wellness Center. She continued to suffer from neck stiffness, mid and low back pain. PSS Injury & Wellness Center diagnosed her with cervical sprain/strain, pelvic dysfunction, and sacroiliac strain/sprain. PSS Injury & Wellness Center found that Cokethia had reduced range of motion. She, too, was prescribed a conservative program of physical therapy to treat her symptoms.

Our firm was successful in settling the claim against American Southern Insurance Company once both victims were feeling better.
