67-year-old Woman Arrested For Cobb County DUI Hit-And-Run

Posted on Jul 22, 2011

Not all drunk drivers fit the stereotypes.  A 67-year-old woman has been arrested for leaving the scene of a Marietta pedestrian accident that left a bicyclist in critical condition.

The Cobb County traffic accident occurred right before 12:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22 on Roswell Street at Avaiation Street in Marietta.

Judy Mae Petrovsky was driving a 2005 Lexus ES380.  She hit Cobb resident Thomas Ringle and continued down Roswell Street. Ringle was critically injured when he was thrown off his bike and onto the pavement.  A Cobb County Police officer witnessed the accident and called Marietta police to the scene. The injured bicyclist was taken to Kennestone Hospital and is being treated in the intensive care unit.

After leaving the accident scene, Petrovsky drove to her home in Milton.  A family member took Petrovsky to a police station where she turned herself in. Alpharetta Police officers located the vehicle and notified Marietta police who arrested Petrovsky on DUI and felony hit and run charges. She is being held at the Cobb County Jail on $10,000 bond.
