A Fort Mitchell, Ala., woman died Wednesday night in a car accident on Airport Thruway, Columbus police said.
Janet Mary Davis, 54, died after a Jeep Cherokee collided with her Honda Accord at the Interstate 185 on-ramp, causing her car to flip, reports state. Davis was a passenger in the Accord that was traveling west on Airport Thruway about 8:10 p.m. The Accord’s driver, 61-year-old Charles Davis, turned left onto the I-185 on-ramp in front of a Jeep Cherokee that was going east on Airport Thruway, police said.
James Dodson, the 32-year-old driving the Jeep, tried to avoid a collision but couldn’t. The Jeep struck the Accord’s front bumper. The Accord then started spinning clockwise, hitting a curb and flipping. When the Accord stopped, it was upside down on the sidewalk, reports state.
