A five-year-old boy who sustained a head injury in a west Cobb County car wreck has been released from the hospital. Police will charge the driver that struck the SUV in which the child was a passenger.
The accident occurred at about 4:05 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, March 20 at the intersection of Macland Road and John Ward Road in Powder Springs. The child was a passenger in an SUV. The SUV was on John Ward Road when it was t-boned by another vehicle that was turning from Macland Road. The SUV flipped on its side.
The child's grandmother was able to escape from the vehicle. The child sustained a head injury and was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Three others were injured, including both drivers and a 12-year-old passenger.
The 69-year-old driver of the other car is expected to be charged with failure to yield. Alcohol, drugs and excessive speed were not factors in the Georgia t-bone accident.
