Forsyth County Motorcycle Accident Claims 23-Year-Old Veteran

A fatal Forsyth County motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 23-year-old motorcyclist on June 11, 2013. According to officials, the accident occurred overnight at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Ga. 369.

This north Forsyth County crash involved a 2007 Kawasaki EX650A motorcycle and a 2000 Mazda Wagon minivan. According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. David Garrison, the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Ga. 369 (Browns Bridge Road) when the motorcycle veered into the eastbound lanes just after crossing the Two Mile Creek Bridge. At that point, the motorcycle struck an oncoming vehicle, the Mazda, head-on.

Although motorcyclist Charles Griffin Hall, of Cumming, was wearing a motorcycle helmet, he was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Timothy Harless, the 28-year-old driver of the Mazda, told police he tried to avoid the impact but was unable to do so. As a result, he suffered minor injuries. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in this wreck, but they are still investigating this deadly collision.

Hall served a tour in Afghanistan and came home to help care for his grandmother. He worked at the Humane Society of Forsyth County, helping with fostering dogs that needed homes.

According to officials, this was the first fatal Forsyth County motorcycle accident in 2013. There was one deadly motorcycle accident in the county in 2012 and two motorcycle fatalities in the county in 2011.

Shane Smith Law is saddened to hear of this tragic accident and extends our condolences to the family and friends of Charles Griffin Hall.
