CALHOUN, Ga. -- Authorities shut down the southbound lanes Interstate 75, a main thoroughfare for truck and car traffic through northwest Georgia, as they investigated a deadly accident Wednesday morning.
Georgia Department of Transportation officials say the wreck, which involved a semitrailer, happened shortly before 5 a.m. in Gordon County.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/xfbPYL) the truck spilled a load of carpet equipment onto the southbound lanes, which remained closed at the start of Wednesday morning's rush hour.
