Nine hurt 4-car Atlanta crash on I-85

A driver going the wrong way on Interstate 85 in Atlanta caused a four car crash that sent nine people to the hospital.
 
The accident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday, February 13. The driver of a green Chevy Blazer was headed south in the northbound HOV lane of I-85 between Chamblee Tucker and Shallowford roads.
 
The Chevy crashed into a Ford Explorer and a Buick. A total of four vehicles were involved in the accident.
Six people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. Two of the injured, including the driver responsible for the crash, were in critical condition.
 
The accident is under investigation. Authorities suspect that alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash.
If alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident, the DUI victims injured in the accident are entitled to compensation for medical expenses, property damage, loss of income, and pain and suffering. The driver may have to pay punitive damages to those who were injured.
