Trucking Accident Causes Delays On Highway

GAINESVILLE - One person was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a serious accident Thursday morning near the intersection of Memorial Park Road and Atlanta Highway in Gainesville.

Officials with the Georgia State Patrol said the wreck involved a car that got caught underneath a tractor trailer, trapping the driver inside the car.

They said the roadway was blocked for a time following the accident, which occurred around 7 a.m.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
