A 38-year-old Georgia man was seriously injured when a car recently plowed into a business in the middle of the afternoon.
According to the Dalton Daily Citizen, a 73-year-old driver was witnessed driving erratically, alternating between driving slowly and speeding through red lights. He was followed by local police on a slow-speed chase, weaving through lanes and running off the roadway. Another deputy attempted to get in front of the car but was unable to do so because of its erratic driving. The driver subsequently sped up and drove through the plate glass windows of a carpet store, striking an employee before crashing into an interior wall.
The employee and the driver were both hospitalized with serious injuries. It is believed that the driver was suffering from a medical condition at the time of the accident.
