According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a tractor trailer driver rear-ended a pickup truck that slowed to avoid road debris. The pickup truck driver slowed behind another vehicle on Highway 316 to go around a mower that was in the road. The tractor trailer driver did not slow or stop in time and rear-ended the pickup truck, causing both the big rig and the pickup truck to overturn. The pickup was also forced into the car in front of it, injuring the driver. The pickup truck's driver was killed in the accident.
Police have charged the tractor trailer driver with second-degree homicide and following too closely.
