Every brain injury is different. Some people with brain injuries show a variety of symptoms. The severity of the brain injury will impact the severity of the symptoms in the specific area of the brain where impact occurred. Some typical symptoms of brain injury are: difficulty paying attention, not understanding things read or see, forgetting things, an inability to learn new things, diminished organizational skills, poor decision making, inability to control anger, inability to control emotions, and or an inability to follow instructions. Physical symptoms are common as well. Patients often complain of fatigue, restless sleeping, dizziness, headaches, speech problems, and have decreased ability of handling stress.
