Teacher of the Month

The winners of Shane Smith Law Teacher of the Month Award have been chosen.  The Peachtree City law firm originally planned to award one teacher each month.  However, there was such an outpouring of support for our local teachers that the firm decided to award two individuals - one from Coweta and one from Fayette.

Coweta County

The Coweta County teacher who is awarded the Teacher of the Month for August is Ms. Carrie Hulsey, a Kindergarten teacher at Brooks Elementary School.  Ms. Hulsey is a 20 year veteran is rumored to be retiring at the end of this school year. She has touched many of her students and boosts them to their highest potential.

Fayette County

The Fayette County Teacher of the Month is Ms. Jenny Ross.  Ms. Ross is an American Literature and a 9th grade Gifted and Honors Literature Teacher at Sandy Creek High School. Ms. Ross has inspired many students. She invests in her students and helps them succeed for their future. Ms. Ross was nominated for Teacher of the Month by a prior student.

We’d like to thank Ms. Ross and Ms. Hulsey for everything that they do for their students and our children, and for being among a select few who go above and beyond their peers and their pay grades.  As a token of our gratitude for these outstanding local educators, each of these ladies have received a $200 check for school supplies and a $25 gift card to Partner’s Pizza.

To nominate a teacher please go to your school’s front office to obtain a nomination form or visit to nominate online.  You may also contact Emily Broden via telephone at 770-487-8999 or via email at [email protected].
