Teacher of the Month

Nominate Your Favorite Teacher

The winners of Shane Smith Law Teacher of the Month Award have been chosen.  The Peachtree City law firm originally planned to award one teacher each month.  However, there was such an outpouring of support for our local teachers that the firm decided to award two individuals - one from Coweta and one from Fayette. .

Coach James Gardner Culpepper

The Coweta County teacher who is awarded the Teacher of the Month for September is Coach Gardner Culpepper, at Northside Elementary School.  Coach Culpepper inspires his students not only physically, but mentally too. He works with his peers to better a student’s achievements academically. He promotes wellness and offers after school activities. Coach Culpepper was nominated by several parents that wanted to thank him for his dedication to their children.

Ms. Kim Sturdivant

The Fayette County Teacher of the Month is Ms. Kim Sturdinvant.  Ms. Sturdinvant is a kindergarten teacher at Grace Christian Academy. Ms. Sturdinvant invests in her students and helps them succeed for their future. Her class adores Ms. Sturdinvant as much as she adores her class.

We’d like to thank Coach Gardner Culpepper and Ms. Sturdinvant for everything that they do for their students and our children, and for being among a select few who go above and beyond their peers and their pay grades.  As a token of our gratitude for these outstanding local educators, each of these teachers received a $200 check for school supplies and a $25 gift card to Partner’s Pizza.

To nominate a teacher please go to your school’s front office to obtain a nomination form or visit to nominate online.  You may also contact Emily Broden via telephone at 770-487-8999 or via email at [email protected].
