Four people were killed in a head-on Georgia car crash that occurred on Monday afternoon.
The two car wreck happened just before 4 p.m. on October 25, 2010 on state route 140 near the intersection with Big Oak Tree Road in Bartow County, Georgia.
Fifty-seven-year-old Ralph Jimmy Ivie of Summerville, Georgia was driving west on S.R. 140 when he crossed the yellow line. He crashed into an eastbound Buick LeSabre carrying 2 passengers. The driver of the Kia and all three people in the Buick died in the fatal crash.
J.R. Tucker, 81, of Trion, was driving the Buick. His passengers included Margaret E. Crews, 82, of Griffin, and Gene Tucker, 76 of Trion. J.R. Tucker and Ms. Crews were pronounced dead at the scene. Gene Tucker died while being flown by helicopter to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga.
The cause of the deadly accident is under investigation, but investigators do not believe alcohol or drunk driving was a factor in the wreck.
