DeKalb County Sherriff’s officers responded to three separate accidents on Peace Road just north of Route 64 on Wednesday, December 22.

The first two Dekalb County crashes occurred at about 4:20 p.m. Officers were called to a five-vehicle accident which was actually two separate accidents that occurred at the same time.

In the first crash, a car slowed and was then hit by the car behind it. The same circumstances caused the second accident, but there were three cars involved in that crash. Traffic slowed as police and fire crews responded to the accidents.

A third Georgia car accident occurred just north of the original two crash sites when a Jeep with three occupants slowed because of the other accidents.  The vehicle behind the jeep slowed as well, but then a third vehicle rear-ended the second vehicle and pushed it into the Jeep.

A woman in the second car was extricated and was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb for treatment of injuries. The driver of the Jeep also was taken to the hospital.  No one else was injured.
