A Loganville, Georgia man has been arrested for causing a deadly Forsyth County car crash.
The head-on collision occurred at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23 at the intersection of Bethelview and Kelly Mill roads.
Twenty-five-year-old Gerardo Perez Abrego was driving a van carrying seven passengers north on Bethelview. He entered the left turn lane for Kelly Mill Road.
Investigators say Abrego, who was d with seven passengers, was headed north on Bethelview and entered the turn lane to go left on Kelly Mill. Forty-five-year-old Christopher Henderson of Canton Georgia was driving south on Kelly Mill in a Chevrolet Blazer. As the light turned yellow, Abrego turned onto Kelly Mill into the path of the oncoming Chevrolet Blazer. Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene of the Georgia car crash. Two passengers in the van were taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities charged Abrego with second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield. Police do not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
The Shane Smith Law would like to offer our condolences to the family of Mr. Henderson.
