A mother and her 4-year-old daughter are in critical condition after a high-speed, head-on crash in DeKalb County. Two brothers in the other vehicle sustained fatal injuries.

The accident occurred on Sunday, October 16 at about 5:30 p.m. Denise Hudson was driving south on Buford Highway near Dresden Drive. Her daughter was in the car. Twenty-three-year-old Raul Velazquez was speeding in the northbound lane and lost control of his Chevrolet Corvette. He veered into the southbound lane and hit Hudson's Acura head-on.

Ms. Hudson was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center. Her young daughter was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Both accident victims remain in critical condition. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Raul Velazquez and his passenger, Abraham Velazquez, 22, died at the scene of the DeKalb County accident.

The crash is still under investigation. It is not known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the deadly accident.

Our Atlanta car accident attorneys send their best wishes for a full recovery to Ms. Hudson and her daughter. We also send our sincere condolences to the Velazquez family.
