A motorcyclist was killed after he collided with a trailer that had separated from the pick-up truck that was pulling it.
The traffic accident occurred around 1 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at the intersection of Lee Road and Park Avenue in Douglas County, Georgia.
A pick-up truck pulling a trailer carrying a load of aluminum cans was going around a curve when the trailer separated from the truck and collided with a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Ronald Salvatore Starnieri of Douglasville was thrown from his motorcycle. Starnieri died at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up truck, 53-year-old Don Harold Yarbrough of Douglasville, has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, failure to maintain lane, and failure to secure a load.
