A young woman is dead after a Dekalb Car Crash that left five others injured.

The fatal car accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 29.  Seventeen-year-old Miles McBride was driving a Mazda on Kelly Chapel Road in Decatur.  His younger sister, Cameron, and two friends were in the car.  A dog ran in the road and Miles swerved to avoid hitting the dog.  When he swerved, he crashed into another car, a Lexus.

The Mazda rolled over. Cameron was killed and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Eagleston.  Miles and the other passengers were injured and were pinned by the wreckage.  The passengers were extracted from the wreckage by emergency workers and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The occupants of the Lexus, Roger Woodward and his three-year-old son, were also injured. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The accident is under investigation, but neither speeding nor drunk driving is believed to be a contributing factor to the Atlanta car accident.

Atlanta car crash attorney Shane Smith offers his condolences to the McBride family.
