Henry County Police have canceled the lookout for the suspected hit-and-run driver of a green Jeep Cherokee, that allegedly struck a jogger earlier this month. A suspect in the case was arrested Wednesday, and is now in the Henry County Jail.

The victim was struck May 1, at 1:47 p.m., while jogging on Airline Road in northern Henry County. The area is near the Rockdale County line.

“A suspect was identified in the case and, upon further investigation, charges were filed and the suspect turned himself in to authorities at the Henry County Jail,” said Henry Police Sgt. Joey Smith.

Kyle Andrew Harvey,18, of McDonough, has been charged with aggravated assault with vehicle, and hit and run with serious injury.

“The victim has been released from Atlanta Medical [Center] after surgery from a broken hip and broken leg,” said Smith. “It is believed that there is no connection between Harvey and the victim.”

Once the victim was struck, police began searching for a white male in his mid-20s, driving a jeep, or sports utility vehicle, with damage to the right headlight and turn signal.

“A third party witness saw the vehicle leaving the area after the incident,” Smith said.

“Harvey’s family owns the green Jeep Cherokee and it did have front-end damage,” said Smith
