A teen died and another teen was injured in a Carrollton, Georgia crosswalk accident last weekend.
The Georgia pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Bankhead Highway and Somerset Place on Saturday, April 9, 2011. It was the result of a Carrollton car crash.
A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Lillian Alvarez made a left turn in front of a pick-up truck. The truck, which was driven by teenage James Mills, swerved off the roadway and jumped the curb, crashing into two teens who were waiting at the crosswalk.
Eighteen-year-old Rhyann Pilgram died at the scene of the accident. Rhyann was a senior at Carrollton High School and was supposed to graduate next month. His family says he planned to study welding.
The second victim, a 16-year-old boy, sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center. His name has not been released.
The accident is still under investigation, but Alvarez may face charges for Pilgram's death.
