A woman driving a minivan faces DUI charges after an Atlanta car accident that left three people, including the driver injured.
The accident occurred at about 4:15 in the morning on Saturday, February 5, 2011 on Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. Lavella Mayfield was westbound in a gold colored van when she crossed the median into eastbound traffic where she struck another vehicle head-on.
Three people, including Mayfield were injured. The cars sustained serious property damage and Atlanta Fire Rescue responders had to use the “jaws of life” to the occupants. Both drivers and an occupant in the other vehicle were taken to Grady Hospital for treatment of injuries. There is no word about their condition.
Mayfield faces DUI charges and other charges related to the Atlanta drunk driving accident.
