On Thursday, March 21, 2013, a bus accident in Norcross occurred that involved two school buses. According to authorities, high school students from Norcross High School were on board the busses at the time of the crash.

This Norcross school bus accident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday after school got out. The two busses collided near the school on Spalding Drive, said Jorge Quintana, a spokesperson for Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Paramedics arrived at the accident scene to evaluate students and one student did report minor injuries. The student’s name was not reported, but it was released that his neck hurt after the crash. He was not transported to the hospital.

The school district stated that another school bus picked up the students and took them home following the wreck. Thankfully, no students were seriously injured in this crash; however, there have been several other school bus accidents in Georgia where the students haven’t been so fortunate. Two of these crashes include:

  • February 7, 2013 – A fatal Forsyth County school bus accident occurred when a student got off the bus and was struck by a vehicle.
  • January 22, 2013 – Over 50 people went to the hospital with injuries when two Covington school buses collided.

Shane Smith Law would like to wish all the children injured and involved in these school bus accidents full and fast recoveries, and we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the child who died in Forsyth County after stepping off the bus.
