Debbie Erutere was involved in a motor vehicle accident on October 17, 2008. After this collision my client required medical attention and was transported via ambulance to the emergency room of DeKalb Medical Center. Debbie presented with complaints of pain in her back, neck, legs, feet, buttocks, arms, and had a headache. She was diagnosed as having post traumatic headaches, cervical strain, lumbar sprain, and muscle spasms. She was given prescriptions for ibuprofen, cyclobenzaprine, and hydrocodone. Upon discharge, Debbie was instructed to perform back exercises, rest, and take prescribed medications. She was also advised to seek follow-up medical care for the injuries she sustained. Debbie continued to suffer pain and was seen by Stoneview Injury & Wellness Clinic. She continued to experience pain in her back, legs, arms, neck, and shoulder and her headaches also continued. The physicians at Stoneview diagnosed her with whiplash, headaches, thoracic and lumbar sprain, myalgia/myositis, bilateral leg and arm pain, and lumbosacral foot lesions. Stoneview Injury & Wellness Clinic also determined Debbie had reduced range of motion thereby prescribing a conservative program of physical therapy. The goal of this physical therapy was to increase her range of motion, decrease pain, and aid her muscles and ligaments in healing.
Once therapy was complete and Debbie was feeling better, we were able to settle the claim against state Farm Insurance.
