William “Brady” Baxter
Brady Baxter’s path to becoming a personal injury attorney began with a deep respect for the law and a firm belief in its role as a safeguard for the principles set forth in the Constitution. For Brady, the legal profession is more than a career; it is a calling to advocate for people at their most vulnerable. His interest in personal injury law grew from witnessing the profound impact accidents and injuries can have on individuals and their families. Determined to provide both legal guidance and a sense of hope, Brady is dedicated to helping clients navigate the challenges of recovery while ensuring their voices are heard and their rights protected.
Brady’s legal career is distinguished by 12 years of service as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as both defense counsel and general counsel. His work encompassed high-stakes legal matters, requiring sharp strategic thinking, exceptional discipline, and a deep understanding of the complexities of military law. As a Company Commander for 314 Marines, Brady further developed his leadership skills, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and care for those under his command. His experience as victims’ legal counsel instilled in him a profound empathy for those navigating difficult circumstances, an empathy that now guides his approach to every personal injury case.
Brady believes the most important quality a personal injury attorney can possess is unwavering dedication to clients, grounded in empathy and clear communication. He makes it a priority to keep clients informed, set realistic expectations, and ensure they feel supported every step of the way. His approach reflects his philosophy that advocacy is not only about legal success but also about restoring clients’ sense of stability and dignity after hardship.
A committed lifelong learner, Brady stays current in personal injury law through active engagement with professional peers, industry experts, and trusted resources. He values collaboration and believes knowing the right experts to call and when is essential to delivering the most effective representation. His alignment with Shane Smith Law stems from the firm’s mission-driven, team-oriented approach, which reminds him of his time in the Marine Corps and reinforces the importance of including clients as active members of the legal team.
Outside the office, Brady’s world revolves around his wife, a fellow Marine and his best friend, and their four children. Their household is also home to a dog, two cats, and three fish. Brady enjoys working out, watching sports, spending time with friends, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Most weekends are devoted to his children’s activities, whether attending sporting events or enjoying time with neighbors in their Charlotte-area community. Recently transitioned from active duty, Brady continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves as he works toward completing 20 years of service.
Guided by the values of loyalty, family, hard work, and empathy, Brady Baxter approaches each case with the same care he would give his own loved ones. These principles drive his determination to secure the best possible outcomes for clients while fostering trust and meaningful connections.
