Mujtaba Mohammed

Mujtaba Mohammed brings a wealth of experience and a passion for public service to his role as a personal injury lawyer. Born to immigrant parents from India, Mujtaba's journey into law was not the conventional path envisioned by his family, but his unwavering passion for using the law to protect and advocate for the community led him to become a respected personal injury lawyer.

From a young age, Mujtaba perceived attorneys as social engineers, utilizing the law and the constitution to champion the rights of individuals and communities. His motivation to become an attorney stemmed from a deep-seated belief in the power of the legal system to protect and uplift the most vulnerable.

Mujtaba pursued his undergraduate studies at UNC Charlotte, majoring in history and minoring in political science. Following this, he attended North Carolina Central University in Durham for law school. His journey in law began as he represented vulnerable children and families at the Council for Children's Rights, a prominent nonprofit in Charlotte. Working as a juvenile defender, Mujtaba addressed not only the legal aspects but also the holistic needs of the young individuals, including housing and psychological treatment.

Continuing his commitment to public service, Mujtaba served as a public defender for almost eight years, representing indigent individuals in the criminal justice system. This experience laid the foundation for his transition to personal injury law at Shane Smith Law, where he continues to advocate for the underdog against insurance companies, applying the same principles of justice and rehabilitation.

He also serves in the North Carolina State Senate, representing the interests of Charlotteans in the State General Assembly. This multifaceted role reflects his understanding of the myriad challenges individuals face, both personally and within the legal system.

Beyond his legal career, Mujtaba finds joy and fulfillment through his roles as a devoted husband and father. At the heart of his world are his three vibrant children. His children are not only the source of his inspiration but also the driving force behind his understanding of the diverse needs of individuals. The busy household is a testament to the energy and love that Mujtaba and his wife invest in nurturing their children's growth and development.

As he navigates the complexities of work, family, and legislative responsibilities, he remains steadfast in his commitment to delivering compassionate, client-focused legal representation. For Mujtaba Mohammed, being your advocate means not only understanding the intricacies of the law but also being a supportive ally throughout the legal process, ensuring that justice is accessible to all.
