Georgia’s Driving Under the Influence Laws are complex. Georgia DUI injury lawyer Shane Smith can sort through the intermingled laws that potentially create complications in a DUI case.
A 27-year-old man suspected of driving drunk when he crashed into a homeless encampment in an early morning accident in another state pled not guilty to DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The accident killed a sleeping 62-year-old homeless military veteran after the driver lost control of his SUV. He allegedly drove off a 25-mph off-ramp and through a guardrail before driving into the homeless encampment under the freeway. The driver continued until he crashed into a cement overpass down the street.
