A Georgia police officer was recently fired after being charged with DUI. The officer was initially placed on administrative duty pending an internal investigation but was terminated before the DUI blood test results came back as a result of a reckless driving pattern.
According to the police chief, the officer had a record of unprofessional and erratic driving, and had been previously reprimanded for his driving.
The officer was charged with DUI eight months earlier and resigned from another law enforcement position. He was driving a county-issued vehicle at the time of his first arrest and the vehicle sustained two flat tires in the incident.
The officer struck a deer while driving just a night before the second DUI.
