No one wants to be in a Gwinnett County car accident or suffer serious injuries. For this reason, Gwinnett County officials are looking to lower the number of car crashes that take place throughout the county. One way to slash the number of crashes is to reduce the speed limits on certain streets or sections of roadways.
These new speed limits along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard now only change once within 21 miles. However, the speeds previously changed four times between 45 and 55 miles per hour on this roadway which runs through multiple cities including Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Berkley Lake, Duluth, Suwanee, Sugar Hill, and Buford.
Because these above-listed cities have continued to increase in population and residential and commercial development, county officials felt that lowering the speed limits and making the speeds more consistent would help decrease accidental speeding and crashes in Gwinnett County.

Prior to this speed limit reduction along with Peachtree Industrial, the county had engineering and traffic studies done. They supported the reduction in speeds. Transportation staff drove these sections during peak hours and reviewed the crash history and speed studies before recommending lower speed limits.
Our Gwinnett County accident attorneys at Shane Smith Law are hopeful that these lower speeds will reduce the crashes on this roadway.
