Celebrity Crime Report: Mystikal Arrested Again on Rape Charges
This week on our Celebrity Crime Report, we are looking at new criminal charges involving rapper Mystikal (Michael Tyler).
According to public reports, Mystikal was recently arrested and jailed on rape and violent assault allegations. A judge has ordered that he be held without bond at this stage of the case.
What is being alleged
Investigators allege that an argument occurred after Mystikal accused a woman of taking money from him. Law enforcement reports claim the situation escalated and included:
- physical assault, including choking and pulling the victim’s hair,
- taking the victim’s keys, and
- a sexual assault at the scene.
The woman reportedly went to the hospital immediately after the incident and underwent a forensic sexual assault exam. Police later searched the residence connected to the investigation and reported finding multiple controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Why this case is especially serious
This is not Mystikal’s first arrest involving similar allegations. Because of that history, prosecutors are expected to treat the case as extremely serious.
A rape conviction can carry decades in prison or a life sentence, depending on how the case is charged and proven. The court’s decision to deny bond reflects the severity of the allegations and the concern for public safety.
