According to a police report, a 27-year-old Georgia locksmith pursued a client who failed to pay for his services, recklessly speeding through Cobb County. The locksmith lost control of his van, jumping a curb and crashing onto a sidewalk where it struck three teenagers headed to the movies. One girl was killed at the scene and another died after falling into a coma.

Both the locksmith and the customer fled the accident scene but were found later and arrested. The locksmith was charged with first degree homicide by a vehicle, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, and two counts of hit and run resulting in injury. The customer was arrested at his house and also charged with first degree homicide by a vehicle, reckless driving, theft of services and two counts of serious injury by a vehicle.
