Georgia Driver Who Caused Multi-Car Pileup Had Arrest Warrant for Priors

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a 32-year-old Georgia driver who caused a Gwinnett County multi-car pileup had an arrest warrant for a fatal accident she caused two years earlier. The driver was attempting to pass traffic in an emergency lane and started a chain-reaction accident. One car flipped several times before coming to rest right-side up and a total of seven vehicles were involved in the accident. A 39-year-old woman died in the accident and three others were hospitalized. Two people needed to be rescued from their cars with the Jaws of Life.

Upon being arrested it was discovered that the cause of the accident had an active arrest warrant for vehicular homicide for causing a DeKalb County accident two years ago. A Navy midshipman was killed in the prior four-car accident. In the past decade the woman had been charged with driving on a suspended license, theft, shoplifting, and criminal trespass.
