Fiery Fulton County Crash Claims Mother and Daughter

On September 12, 2013, Gabriella Faiz picked up her car from the mechanic and was driving home when her car stalled and other vehicles rear-ended her. Sadly, this Thursday evening crash in Sandy Springs claimed the life of 17-year-old Gabriella and her two-year-old daughter Jada.

According to Al-Quiyamah Faiz, Gabriella’s mother, the wreck occurred as they were carpooling back home after she took her daughter to pick up her vehicle that had just been repaired by a mechanic. On the way home, Gabriella called her mother to say her Honda had stalled again. While Al-Quiyamah was trying to drive back to her daughter’s car, other vehicles slammed into Gabriella’s stalled car.

Upon impact, Gabriella’s Honda ignited, and the entire car was engulfed in flames within minutes. Sadly, Gabriella and her passenger, her two-year-old daughter, were trapped inside and burned to death.  “I watched my daughter and granddaughter burn in the middle of the night,” said Al-Quiyamah Faiz.

The fiery Fulton County wreck took place on westbound I-285, near Ga. 400 around 9:30 p.m., blocking lanes between Peachtree-Dunwoody Road and Ga. 400. According to reports, a tractor-trailer and two other cars were involved in this crash. Additionally, one person suffered injuries in this accident, but the person’s name has not been released, according to Channel 2 News.

Fulton County authorities are now investigating the crash to determine if charges should be filed against any of the drivers involved in this Sandy Springs multi-vehicle accident.

Our Fulton County accident attorneys at Shane Smith Law are saddened to hear of this fatal Georgia car crash and would like to extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Gabriella and Jada Faiz.
