Locust Grove, GA Woman Killed When Tractor Trailer Makes Illegal U-Turn

A Locust Grove woman became the victim of a fatal Georgia car wreck when her car collided with a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened on Thursday, December 23 just before 6 a.m. on Georgia state highway 155 at Hunters Chase in Henry County.

Twenty-six-year-old Crystal Clark was driving to work when a tractor-trailer made a U-turn and her vehicle slid under the trailer of a truck.  Ms. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Accidents, where a passenger car slides under the trailer of a semi-truck, are known as underride accidents.  These are some of the deadliest crashes on Georgia highways.

According to Henry County police, there are no indications of alcohol or drug use by either driver; however, the driver of the tractor-trailer was making an illegal U-turn.  The accident is still under investigation.

All lanes of Georgia 155 in both directions were blocked for several hours while emergency workers cleared the scene and investigated the accident.
