A young boy is dead after being hit by a school bus at the Cartersville Bus Barn.
The Bartow County pedestrian accident occurred on Monday, March 13 at about 4 p.m. Eight-year-old Garrett Black often rode the school bus to the bus barn in order to meet his mother, a bus barn employee. On that day, he got off his school bus, walked around the bus and was hit by a second bus. The boy died at the scene.
Both bus drivers were distraught and taken to the hospital. The driver of Garret's bus was his aunt. She watched her nephew get hit by the other bus. The death has been ruled an accident and charges are not expected to be filed.
Garrett was a third grader at Cartersville elementary School. He enjoyed playing Little League.
The Georgia accident attorneys at Shane Smith Law would like to offer our condolences to the Black Family.
